The Conservative Councillors for the Ashford Common Ward are:
Simon Bhadye was elected in May 2023 - He has a sound knowledge of how the NHS operates, having worked in it for 40 years. He was elected Governor of Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals Foundation Trust in November 2010.
He also helped set up the Borough's link with Grand Port in Mauritius in 2009 whilst he was the then Spelthorne Mayor, being the first Mauritian Mayor of the Borough.
Naz Islam was first elected in May 2015 as a Borough Councillor. He is married with four children and lives and runs a business in Ashford. During his time as a Councillor he has secured funding for 1) School Road junction with the A308 2) Improvements to the Clockhouse Lane bridge; 3) two outdoor gyms.
As a local resident he is concerned about roads and road safety, antisocial behaviour, our pavements, the environment, and supporting local businesses.
